You have to be the descendant to parents or grandparents that were born in the former Portuguese territories of Goa, before 1961. Or your spouse from the descendant of Portuguese-Goan.

The Portugal Citizenship can be given to those who were born before 1961 in the anciente Portuguese State of India, in accordance to Portuguese Nationality Law (Decreto-lei 308-A/75, de 24 de Junho). If the parent or grandparent are dead then their descendants are entitled apply on their behalf. (Descendants up to their third generation) 

If born before 1961

Birth Certificate Theor of the person to be registered (True copy of the Portuguese record book)

Death certificate of the person to be registered (in case he/she passed away)

(Two or more) Old documents, such old bilhete de identidade, Portuguese passport, documento para viagem, as his/her parent’s birth certificate, parent’s baptism certificate (until 1914) civil marriage certificate or church marriage certificate (this is only valid for church marriages between 1947 and 1961), etc. Please note that the church documents need to be true copies from the original record books.

Residence certificate from 1974 to 1975 of the person that will be registered. In case the person was born after 1/1/1953 the residence certificate should also attest the domicile of the father.

True copy of the applicant’s Passport

True copy of the applicant’s ID (e.g. Aadhaar Card or other Identity card)

True copy of the Birth Certificate & Indian Passport of the Applicant (whenever it is not the person being registered, e.g. whenever it is the descentant of the person referred on doc a. above)

If born after 1961,

Must first register their parent born before 1961 to continue Portuguese Nationality.

If your parent's are already Registered and you don't have transcripted copy of Parent's "Assento de Nascimento", "Assento de Casamento" We can aquire the copy

If you’re a descendant the Conservatória dos Registos Centrais will charge €175 Euros to register your birth.
